Dennis La is originally from Houston, Texas. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Texas A&M Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy in May 2019. Having no background in healthcare previously, Dennis was unsure what path he was going to take. Due to his curiosity and because of the positive influence of his best friends, Dennis began searching for more clinical experiences and leadership roles. In the summer of his P2 year, Dennis became the lead intern of a small group of pharmacy students at San Jose Clinic, an ambulatory care clinic in Houston. Since then, Dennis has been challenging himself to become the best clinician he can be. After 3 months of ambulatory care experience in his P4 APPEs with Baylor Scott and White in Temple, Texas, Dennis knew ambulatory care is what he wanted to do. He searched all around the nation for residency programs that focused in ambulatory care and found his way up north to PCHC after graduation. A hidden passion of Dennis’ is academia. Aside from work, Dennis enjoys meeting new people, watching shows on Netflix, and exploring new towns to find good shots for Instagram.

PCHC's twelve-month residency is specifically focused on increasing the clinical knowledge, skills, and experience of new family nurse practitioners, providing them with a positive transitional experience from school to practice, and an opportunity to fine-tune skills under the guidance of an experienced mentor.
