The Application Window Is Open for the 2025-2026 Cohort

Applications are open for the 2025-2026 Residency Cohort, which will begin on July 28, 2025 and conclude on July 24, 2026. We will accept applications until March 1st, 2025.

We can’t wait to have you join our team! New Family Nurse Practitioners who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply:

  • Graduate of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner Program within the last 18 months
  • Current or pending license to practice medicine as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maine
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Current DEA License
  • Stated commitment to a career in primary care in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)

  • Personal Statement:
    • This is an opportunity to give PCHC your personal statement of qualifications, interest, and motivation in acceptance to this Residency. In essay format, please respond to the following question: What personal, professional, educational, and/or clinical experience have led you to choose the role of a primary care nurse practitioner in a community health setting? Perhaps you can share your experience working with underserved populations.

PCHC's twelve-month residency is specifically focused on increasing the clinical knowledge, skills, and experience of new family nurse practitioners, providing them with a positive transitional experience from school to practice, and an opportunity to fine-tune skills under the guidance of an experienced mentor.
