• Develop advanced skills in the diagnosis and treatment of tooth loss with removable and fixed appliances.
  • Gain experience with restoratively-driven implant placement, including treatment planning, restoration, and maintenance of implant prosthetics.
  • Increase the resident’s knowledge base regarding dental prosthetic materials.
  • Enhance experience with dental laboratory collaboration and communication.
  • Broaden the resident’s knowledge regarding the indications and limitations of pre-prosthetic surgery, such as removal of exostoses and ridge preservation surgery.
  • Differentiate cases which may require specialist collaboration or referral for definitive treatment.

PCHC's twelve-month residency is specifically focused on increasing the clinical knowledge, skills, and experience of new family nurse practitioners, providing them with a positive transitional experience from school to practice, and an opportunity to fine-tune skills under the guidance of an experienced mentor.
